Emotions and Bowen Therapy

When we think about emotions, we relate almost immediately to our psychological part. Emotions are reactions triggered by the brain and can have various causes and effects, both physical and psychological.

In physical terms, how we interpret these emotions is important in how we manage pain. A pain causes emotions and conversely, an emotion also causes physical pain. Being a complex topic, here are some examples:

- Anxiety can cause nervous tension in specific points of the body (bad posture, pain in the dorsal and cervical areas, for example), and pain also causes anxiety due to lack of mobility;

- Emotions such as sadness and depression can have physical causes; Traumatic memories can generate fear that blocks actions and some mobility, entering a vicious cycle.

- Stress can cause headaches or migraines, and if these pains become chronic they will clearly cause concern. It also influences the immune system and internal organs;

- Muscle tensions can generate more fibrous areas around the muscles that over time limit mobility;

- Relaxation has a positive effect on our body, as itthat the balance of the body is a reflection of the balance of the mind.

It is important to be aware and educated to understand and interpret what causes our emotional and/or physical pain, so that we can gradually balance ourselves. And not only to ourselves but also to those around us. Only in this way can we achieve a better quality of life.

Bowen Therapy, as a complementary therapy, can help educate and relieve physical pain (balancing the whole body and relaxing it) and thus facilitate the treatment of each person. Being a therapy of human touch, gentle and non-invasive, it conveys emotions of comfort and calm. By releasing restrictions, it helps the rest to flow more easily. It also helps to discover the body and its connections.

In short, total treatment (especially in chronic cases) is a sometimes labyrinthine process, emotions are clues, and Bowen therapy is a key to opening some doors.
