ABOUT THE THERAPY

It consists of applying simple e  gentle manipulations to specific points of the body, such as fascia, tendons or ligaments, with the aim of relieving pain and calming the nervous system, facilitating balance and regeneration of the body.

But the best explanation is to try it :)

Why Bowen Therapy?

One of the key points in this therapy is a global approach to assessing the body, in order to balance the body - without focusing only on the pain area - thus providing a general sense of well-being, balance and self-knowledge of your body.In addition, it is a little intrusive technique, and can be applied with the person sitting or on top of light clothes. It acts not only on a muscular level, but above all on a neurological level, promoting relaxation of body and mind.It is not supposed to replace conventional therapies, but to be a complementary tool to help the patient control and relieve pain, and collaborating with the daily needs of the body (food, hydration, movement and rest). It has no contraindications and can be combined with other techniques, and may even provide better results when integrated with other therapeutic areas.Bowen Therapy is considered a very safe and adaptable therapy, and maybe applied to a large number of people: athletes, newborns, babies, children, young people, adults, elderly, pregnant women... And as each person is different and there is no generic recipe, the therapy adapts to the person and not the symptom. This is the only way to ensure comfort and allow for better results.

What does a session consist of?

Uma sessão dura entre 30 a 60 miA session lasts between 30 and 60 minutes, where a series of movements are applied to the patient's body (whether on the skin or over light clothes), according to an initial assessment, which are interspersed with breaks of about 2 minutes .These breaks are important not only for the therapist to assess the effect, but also for the body to relax and assimilate the sensations, allowing the patient a better perception of the sensations in his body.In an initial phase, information is collected about the person's history, in order to be able to analyze the best way for the treatment.Usually the session takes place with the person lying on a table, but it can also be done on a chair.
